Bent Franklin Larsen was born in Monroe, Utah, on May 10, 1882. He graduated from Snow Academy and then received a B.A. degree from BYU in 1912. He was a professor and chairman of the Art department at BYU. He served for fifty years at BYU until he was given Professor Emeritus status. He was a recipient of the David O. Plans for the David O. McKay building began in 1952 after an evaluation by the Brigham Young University College of Education concluded that the existing building for the College of Education were no longer meeting the growing needs of the program.
